Only one more hour before I leave for Cape Town. Tomorrow is my first wedding with Boland Weddings in Stellenbosch and I can hardly wait, but I still have one more hour to kill...so here I am updating my blog.
I cannot believe the time has actually come, it is still kind of hard to believe. It was only a few months ago that I was struggling to get ahead in photography and getting my name out there, but now it is really starting to happen. I have weddings lined up with Boland Weddings as well as with Laetitia Brink (who I mentioned in my earlier posts) so things are really looking good for me.
Looking back over the few months I've spent in Bredasdorp, living with my parents, not having a job for some time and asking my parents for money... I can honestly say it wasn't that bad. I may have complained about it to my friends and boyfriend, but I lived in comfort and every other weekend I went to Cape Town to spend some time with my boyfriend. It was frustrating, but all in all I had a good time here. My parents supported me every step of the way and I had, and still have good friends here who listened to my complaints.
So thank you and good-bye Bredasdorp... Cape Town here I come!

A small, intimate wedding on the beach
It didn't rain...in fact it was a beautiful day, well except for the wind... The bride and groom wasn't concerned at all. They were so eager and happy to get married that the rising tide didn't even seem to bother them! The ceremony took place in Arniston on the beach near the water. The bride and her father had quite a distance to walk, but that gave the groom plenty of time to admire his beautiful bride. There was only a small group of family present, which made the wedding very intimate. As the ceremony was nearing its end, the water was starting to rise and I would have gotten very wet if Laetitia hadn't warned me in time. After the ceremony Laetitia and I had a wonderful time taking their photos, while the family were having cocktails at the Arniston hotel. The bride was very easy-going and open to all Laetitia's ideas. She didn't mind doing things like climbing onto a fisherman's boat and walking down the slip way in the harbor...Most brides wouldn't do things like this, because they don't want to get their dresses dirty, but she didn't mind and that is why we had so much fun with them and got such stunning photos. After the shoot they had a dinner at the hotel, which included their first dance and the groom's speech. The wedding was small and not as long as other weddings I photographed, but the love that surrounded them was absolutely amazing and beautiful.
Photos soon to follow....

The rain won't get me down!
Tomorrow is my first wedding of the season. I am assisting Laetitia Brink from Purelight Studios in Bredasdorp, I have assisted her before with 2 weddings and really enjoy working with her! It is raining at the moment, but Laetitia is convinced that it will clear up by tomorrow. The wedding is in the beautiful and quiet Arniston, one of my favorite places ever! I am so excited I can barely contain myself!!! I hope everything runs smoothly tomorrow....
